What do I need to rent a storage unit?
You’ll need to bring a government-issued photo ID and a form of payment such as, credit card, debit card or money order to cover any initial fees and ongoing rent. If you choose to insure your items with your own insurance policy instead of the one offered at our facility, please bring a copy of your insurance policy’s declaration page. You’ll also need to bring your own lock, though locks are also available for purchase at our facility.
Can I rent short term?
Yes, we offer convenient month-to-month rental arrangements.
Do you require a deposit?
No, we do not require a deposit to rent a storage unit.
Do I need insurance for my storage unit?
Yes, insurance is a requirement for all storage units. We do offer a comprehensive insurance coverage through Storsmart for your convenience.
Can I bring my own insurance?
You are welcome to bring the declaration page of your homeowners or renters insurance. Consult your insurance provider to determine if your valuables are covered while in storage.
When can I access my storage unit?
The facility access hours are from 6AM to 10PM daily.
What are the office hours?
Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday 9:00AM - 2:00PM
Can I transfer to another storage unit?
Yes you can. Please contact our office to discuss availability and arrange the transfer
Do I need a lock?
Yes, you are required to have a lock on your unit at all times for security reasons. You must bring a lock of your choice or alternatively we can provide you with a tamper-resistant cylinder lock for a nominal fee.
What happens if I need my lock cut?
If you need your lock cut, please be aware that only authorized personnel from our facility are permitted to perform lock cutting. For security reasons we do not allow customers to cut their own locks. If you find yourself in this situation, simply contact our office and we will schedule a time for a staff member to assist you with removing the lock. There will be a fee for this service.
What payment options do you offer?
We do our best to make payment as convenient as possible for our customers. Here are the payment options we offer: - pay online using a debit or credit card through the payment portal https://www.38keystorage.com/payonline - Money order -Cashapp: $38KeyStorage -Drop box (see below) -Certified check The payment dropbox is located on the North East corner of the office building. Payments placed in the drop box will be processed the next regular business day. We are also happy to take payments over the phone with our customer service team. We do not accept cash or personal checks.
How can I sign up for Auto Pay?
Visit our website. Click the ‘Pay Online’ button at the top of the page. Sign in with your existing account. Go to your account settings. Look for the ‘Auto Pay’ option and follow the prompts to set it up. Alternatively, you can reach out to our customer service team for further assistance.
Are your units climate controlled?
No, our units are not climate-controlled. They are standard storage units without temperature or humidity control.
What should I do if my gate code isn’t working?
First make sure that you’re entering your gate code correctly and pressing the pound (#) sign afterwards. Keep in mind that gate codes won’t work outside of the designated access hours which are from 6am to 10pm and are disabled once your account goes delinquent. If your code still doesn’t work, even during access hours, contact the office for further assistance.
How do you handle pest control at your facility?
Our storage facility is treated regularly for pest and rodents. We have a pest control expert who visits on a scheduled basis.
What security features are available at your facility? We prioritize top-notch security. We have over 20 surveillance cameras that constantly record and monitor all entry, exit and other activities. Our facility is well-lit at night with bright security lights. Additionally, the Indianapolis Fire Department and Indianapolis Metro Police have unlimited gate and camera access. This authority includes but is not limited to periodically patrolling the entire property with K-9s.
What items are not allowed to be stored in my unit?
Customers are not permitted to store perishable items, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic substances or drugs. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.
Do you sell packing supplies?
Yes we do. Various useful supplies such a boxes and tape are available to purchase onsite.
Do you have handcarts and dollies available at your facility?
No. Handcarts and dollies are not available at this facility.
